Maryland Film Production Activity Tax Credit has been a tremendous success. The legislation secured the first four seasons of the award-winning HBO series Veep, the groundbreaking Netflix series
House of Cards, as well as many independent films, generating an economic impact in the State of $900 million.
During its six seasons, House of Cards hired an average of more than 2,000 Maryland residents per season, purchased or rented goods or services from more than 2,000 Maryland businesses per season and had an economic impact of nearly $120 million per season.
During its four seasons, Veep hired an average of 1,000 Maryland residents per season, purchased or rented goods or services from more than 1,000 Maryland businesses per season and had an economic impact of over $40 million per season.
